Girl Services Manger - Troops - Des Moines
JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)
LOCATION: Des Moines
PURPOSE OF JOB: Girl Services Manager supports the Service Unit manager, volunteers, and girls within an assigned area; identifying the needs of girls and promoting the mission of Girl Scouts. This position networks throughout the communities identifying underserved populations; recruiting and retaining membership while promoting leadership, and promoting products and services offered throughout Girl Scouts.
Essential Functions:
- Provides customer service and support for council volunteers
- Works closely with the membership team implementing outcome-based strategies
- Promotes Girl Scouts Journey and The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting material; and other products and services
- Some nights and weekends required seasonally
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required. Volunteer Relations and Management as well as Sales/Relationship Development experience required.
Girl Services Manger - Troops - Fort Dodge

LOCATION: Fort Dodge
PURPOSE OF JOB: Girl Services Manager supports the Service Unit manager, volunteers, and girls within an assigned area; identifying the needs of girls and promoting the mission of Girl Scouts. This position networks throughout the communities identifying underserved populations; recruiting and retaining membership while promoting leadership, and promoting products and services offered throughout Girl Scouts.

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)
LOCATION: Boone
PURPOSE OF JOB: The Camp Site Manager ensures safety of camp grounds and girls participating in camp activities and programs; maintains camp facilities, property and equipment accordance with ACA site standards; understands applicable local, state, and federal codes as relevant to building, fire, and pool codes; understands OSHA guidelines and EPA; assists Property Director with accounts for inventory; scheduled maintenance; performs custodial duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures usability of camp site by performing maintenance and providing security for the site.
- Performs ongoing facilities, grounds, and equipment maintenance in accordance with council standards and maintenance plan; complies with codes such as OSHA.
- Performs regular security checks to ensure the safety of individuals on-site and to protect the council’s property.
- Conducts regular site inspections and reports findings to the Property Director.
- Prepares site for users by putting up tents, turning on water and/or heat, and meeting other program needs; provides assistance to site users by responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner and by supplying other site needs.
- Registers all site users upon entering and exiting site; meets with leaders to obtain number of users and facility needs.
- Maintains inventory of tools, equipment and supplies.
- Serves as the council on-site representative by receiving shipments, meeting with contractors, and accompanying inspectors and other site visitors.
- Supports staff in council activities such as staff meetings and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE):
- Have a high school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent experience.
- Have experience in carpentry, road maintenance, minor repair of machinery, landscaping, water and sewer systems, and pool maintenance. Plumbing or electrical license preferred.
- Maintain appropriate and valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Attend trainings and obtain appropriate certifications as required by council.
- Have the ability to operate heavy machinery, using appropriate safety gear.
- Have the ability to lift and carry at least 70 pounds to walk at least one mile over uneven terrain.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position requires outdoor work where heat, cold, precipitation, and the results of weather and nature may be encountered.
- During and after heavy rains or snowfalls the road in and around the camps can become extremely muddy, snow covered, icy and difficult to maneuver on.
- During different job duties the noise inside or outside can become very loud.
- Position requires travel within and outside of the council which imposes common travel hazards.
- Position provides living quarters and requires residency at the provided location.
Standard work hours must be flexible and include evenings and weekends and will be greater than 40 hours per week for a large percentage of the year.
