Shop Ordering Policy

Online Orders

Effective October 1, 2014, all online orders are handled by Girl Scout Merchandise (GSUSA.) This site can be accessed via girlscoutsiowa.org by clicking on “shop” in the main menu. All online orders are subject to Girl Scout Merchandise/GSUSA policies.

  • Any returns must be done through Girl Scout Merchandise, and are not able for return or exchange at the GSGI Shops.
  • Munch Money, Scholarship Funds, Juliette Proceeds, and Cookie Dough are NOT able to be used for online purchases.  These funds can all be used in-store, via phone and e-mail orders (shop@gsiowa.org). 

Phone/Email Orders

  1. We require 24 hour notice for all orders phoned or e-mailed in that require in store pick up.  Please plan accordingly. 
  2. If we need to special order your item, or it is out of stock, we will contact you to inform you of any extended wait time. 
  3. In the event that we can’t get the item you need or it has been discontinued, we will issue a refund and/or not charge you for the item.
  4. Please make note: During our busy season (August through October, and March through May, orders can take 3-4 weeks to process and ship)!

Girl Scout Merchandise Orders (catalog items ordered in council shops) 

  1.  All Girl Scout Merchandise Orders are placed on the 15 and 30 of the month.  Please plan accordingly.
  2. If you need something before this time, please ask!  We would be more than happy to contact one of our other store locations to find the item needed. 
  3. If you have a large event coming up, please plan accordingly and take into consideration what patches, certificates, or other items you may need.  This helps us keep inventory in stock and insures that we will have what you need!
  4. It takes 7-10 business days to receive an order from our GSM distributor. 
  5. You should receive a call by the 12 business day that your order is ready to be picked up.
  6. If you requested your order to be shipped, please allow an extra 3 business days to receive your order.
  7. GSM orders do not need to be pre-paid. 
  8. Please make note: During our busy season (August through October, and March through May, orders can take 3-4 weeks to process and ship)!

 

Fun Patch Orders (through Advantage or Snappy Logo)

  1. Fun Patch orders are placed on the FIRST FRIDAY of the month, please plan accordingly.
  2. Fun Patches MUST BE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE.  Patches are $1.00 each.
  3. It takes 5-7 business days for us to receive the order.
  4. You should receive a call by the 5th business day that your order is ready to be picked up.
  5. If you requested your order to be shipped, please allow at least an extra 3 business days to receive your patches.

Picking Up Orders

  1. Please pick up your orders in a timely manner.
  2. Orders need to be picked up within 5 business days of receiving notice that it is ready.
  3. If you can’t pick up your order within 5 business days, we will make other arrangements as needed. 
  4. If we do not hear from you to make other arrangements, your merchandise will be put back into our regular stock and inventory, and you will be issued a store credit if the merchandise has been paid for in advance.

Shipping/Handling Costs:    

Please note – every effort is made to provide reasonable shipping costs based on the weight of the items and the requested shipping speed. Shipping costs fluctuate based on post office regulations and are subject to change. Please confirm with the shop what your shipping costs will be.

$3.00 for $5.01 - $15.00   
$4.00 for $15.01 - $25.00
$6.00 for $25.01 - $50.00
$8.00 for $50.01 - $100.00
$10.00 for $100.01 and over
